Hi my beauties,
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we’re reflecting on the incredible women who’ve paved the way for us, particularly in the world of dermatology. Being a women-owned brand, it’s impossible not to acknowledge the strong, resilient, and inspiring women who’ve helped shape the industry and the lives of those who have followed in their footsteps.
Here at MDAIRE, we’ve learned a lot along the way, and we thought we’d share a few life lessons that have been especially meaningful to us:
Support is Everything-
One of the most important lessons we've learned is the value of community and support. Whether it's collaborating with other women in the field, cheering each other on, or learning from each other’s experiences, lifting each other up has been one of our core values. There’s power in unity—especially among women. We draw inspiration from pioneers like Dr. Pearl Grimes, a leader in treating pigmentary disorders and advocating for diversity in dermatology, whose work has transformed the lives of countless patients.
Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Destination-
Success doesn’t happen overnight. Whether it’s starting a skincare brand or breaking into a traditionally male-dominated field like dermatology, the journey is just as important as the outcome. We’ve learned that perseverance, patience, and the willingness to adapt are essential to growth. Women like Dr. Susan Kilmer, a trailblazer in laser science and dermatology, remind us that success is built over years of dedication and groundbreaking advancements.
Never Stop Learning-
The world of skincare and dermatology is constantly evolving, and as women in this field, we’ve realized that education and growth are never-ending. From new technology and procedures to developing innovative skincare products, staying curious and always learning is what keeps us at the top of our game. We look to leaders like Dr. Zoe Draelos, whose groundbreaking research has advanced the science of skincare, as a testament to the power of lifelong learning.
Confidence is Key-
Confidence might seem like a simple trait, but it’s often one of the hardest to build. As women in a competitive industry, we’ve learned to trust our knowledge and expertise—and embrace the confidence that comes from years of hard work and dedication. Confidence isn’t about knowing everything; it’s about knowing yourself and trusting your instincts. Pioneers like Dr. Susan Taylor, who founded the Skin of Color Society, exemplify what it means to stand tall in your expertise and advocate for change.
Celebrate the Wins (Big and Small)-
While we are all about striving for excellence, we’ve come to appreciate the importance of celebrating the wins along the way—whether it’s a glowing customer review, a successful product launch, or a breakthrough moment in the office. Every step forward deserves to be recognized, and every milestone is a reason to celebrate! It’s this spirit of celebration that connects us to the amazing women in dermatology who have made history and continue to shape the future.
Empower Others, Especially Women-
One of the most powerful things we can do as women is to empower others. Whether it’s through mentorship, support, or simply offering a listening ear, it’s important that we continue to build each other up and help other women find their own path to success.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we want to honor the incredible women who have influenced Dr. Kappel and all of us along the way—and those who are paving the path forward for future generations. Being a women-owned and women-operated brand, we take immense pride in uplifting and supporting women in dermatology, aesthetics and beyond.
But this celebration isn’t just about us—it’s about you. To the strong, confident women who choose MDAIRE, you are part of this legacy. Every time you invest in your skin, embrace self-care, and prioritize your well-being, you are making a statement: that taking care of yourself is powerful; that confidence and self-worth go hand in hand.
We’d love to hear your story! What inspires you? Who has impacted your journey? Share your story with us via email or tag us on social media. Let’s celebrate the beauty of women supporting women—this month and every month.
